Role:
We are seeking a highly strategic and impactful Director of ProductDesign to lead and elevate the design vision for our critical FleetManagement product team. This role offers the exciting opportunityto shape the future of our vehicle and equipment tracking,compliance, fuel, and maintenance solutions across web and mobileplatforms. You will be pivotal in defining and executing theproduct strategy, working in close partnership withcross-functional leaders to deliver exceptional and user-centricexperiences for fleet managers, drivers, and back-office personnel.
As a design leader who remains highly connected to the craft, youwill champion the growth and development of a talented team ofdesigners through effective mentorship and coaching, fostering ahigh-performance design culture. You will also be a key driver inthe evolution and adoption of our design system, ensuring a unifiedand high-quality user experience across our entire productecosystem. Reporting to our VP of Design, you will have theopportunity to work with a talented and passionate team to make asignificant impact on our customers lives and contribute directlyto key business objectives. What You’ll Do:
Drive strategic designinitiatives that directly contribute to key business objectives andthe product roadmap for our Fleet Management suite. Identify andchampion opportunities for innovation and differentiation throughuser-centered design across the Fleet Management platform. Lead thedevelopment and communication of a cohesive design vision for theFleet Management product area, aligning with the broader companystrategy. Empower and guide a team of product designers, fosteringtheir professional growth and ensuring high-quality designexecution. Champion a user-centric design culture across theorganization, advocating for user needs and design excellence.
Establish and evangelize high design standards and best practicesthroughout the product development lifecycle. Lead design projectsend to end, from initial strategic framing through detailedexecution and iteration. Contribute to and evolve our design systemand component library to ensure consistency and efficiency acrossall product touchpoints. Collaborate closely with productmanagement, engineering, and operations leadership to defineproduct strategy, prioritize initiatives, and ensure seamlessexecution. Build alignment and articulate a compelling designvision through strong storytelling and presentation skills tovarious audiences, including executive leadership.
What We’reLooking For:
10 years of progressive experience in user experience,interaction, and interface design, with significant experienceleading and managing product design teams within a SaaSenvironment. Demonstrated success leading the design of complex weband mobile products in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Acompelling online portfolio demonstrating a strong understanding ofuser-centered design principles, strategic thinking, leadership indriving design vision, problem-solving abilities, and thesuccessful delivery of impactful user experiences and businessoutcomes. Deep understanding of and proven experience indeveloping, implementing, and scaling design systems acrossmultiple product lines. Excellent written, verbal, and visualcommunication skills, with the ability to articulate designrationale and build consensus across diverse stakeholders.
Experience collaborating effectively with distributed or globalteams and navigating different cultural and communication styles.
Strong business acumen and the ability to understand how designdecisions impact business outcomes. Ability to thrive in a dynamicand evolving industry undergoing disruption. Unbounded curiosityand a passion for solving complex challenges. Familiarity with or astrong interest in the fleet management, logistics, or relatedindustries is a plus. Pay Transparency Your compensation may bebased on several factors, including education, work experience, andcertifications. For certain roles, total compensation may includerestricted stock units. Motive offers benefits including health,pharmacy, optical and dental care benefits, paid time off, sicktime off, short term and long term disability coverage, lifeinsurance as well as 401k contribution (all benefits are subject toeligibility requirements). The compensation range for this positionwill depend on where you reside.
