Full-Time About Our Client Our client is a fast-growing leader in the origination and development of renewable energy and energy storage projects across multiple U.S. markets. With a track record of developing approximately 5GWdc of solar and solar + storage projects, they are active in utility-scale and community solar development throughout North America. Their mission is to enable landowners, power purchasers, and developers to participate in the growth of clean energy infrastructure. Position Overview The Vice President of Development will lead and mentor a team of nine project developers and interconnection engineers. This is a strategic leadership role reporting directly to the President and serving on the company’s senior leadership team. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in renewable energy project development, particularly in community solar and distributed generation. This role requires a hands-on, results-driven leader who can manage internal teams, external stakeholders, and customer relationships, while overseeing project timelines, budgets, and permitting requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead development from Origination handoff through NTP (Notice to Proceed). Manage and mentor a team of 9 developers and interconnection engineers. Serve as a customer relationship lead for projects developed under Development Service Agreements. Oversee project strategy, schedule forecasting, and budget management. Coordinate with real estate, policy, legal, finance, and engineering teams. Conduct site assessments to address early-stage project risks. Lead permitting processes at local, state, and federal levels. Represent our client in stakeholder meetings and public engagements. Support process improvement, internal reporting, and investor communication. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 9 years of experience in renewable energy project development and permitting. Proven track record in community solar and distributed generation development. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Willingness to travel as needed. Preferred Qualifications PMP Certification. Lean Management experience. Experience with solar projects in Pennsylvania and Maryland . Experience with high-volume project pipelines. Background in real estate or large-scale land development.
