PositionSnapshot:
The Director of Continuous Improvement will leadstrategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productquality, and workforce development while fostering a culture ofinnovation and excellence. Reporting directly to the VP of BusinessPerformance, this role requires a dynamic leader with a strongbackground in Lean, Six Sigma, and change management, along withhands-on leadership skills and a proven track record of deliveringmeasurable results. This position will collaborate withcross-functional teams to identify opportunities, design solutions,and implement strategies that drive meaningful improvements acrossthe organization.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive continuous improvementstrategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives. Analyze current processes to identify inefficiencies,bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement, and implement Leanand Six Sigma methodologies. Lead change initiatives and ensure adoption of new processesand practices across all levels of the organization. Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the success ofimprovement initiatives and provide regular updates to executiveleadership. Build organizational capability by training employees incontinuous improvement tools and techniques, fostering a culture ofproblem-solving and innovation. Partner with department leaders to align improvement effortswith business objectives and ensure consistent execution. Champion new technologies, tools, and methods to enhanceoperational efficiency and competitiveness. Lead (oversee) Team of CI Regional Managers regarding jobduties and working towards positive company direction.
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:
Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and processimprovement methodologies tailored to manufacturing and productionenvironments. Experience with quality management systems and operational bestpractices specific to concrete pipe and precast products. Proven ability to analyze processes, identify inefficiencies,and implement effective solutions that drive measurableresults. Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building skills tofoster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Skilled in project management and managing multiple prioritiesin a fast-paced environment. Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate acrossdepartments and influence stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency with data analysis tools and process mappingsoftware to support decision-making and performancemonitoring.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or arelated field preferred. 8-10 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrialenvironment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused oncontinuous improvement. Proven expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, and other processimprovement methodologies; Black Belt certification preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project managementskills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with theability to influence and drive change at all organizationallevels. Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams anddelivering measurable results. Experience with change management and organizationaltransformation. Strong project management skills with experience leadingmulti-site initiatives.
Requirements:
Must reside in the continental U.S. within the assignedregion. Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, andability to pass a criminal background check. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
TypicalSchedule:
Work is generally performed Monday-Friday, 40+ hours perweek depending on workload and job demands. This position willrequire regular travel (example: +/- 3 days per week – 3 weeks permonth) with overnight stays as needed.
Typical Physical Demands:
Physical agility, which may require any or all the following:standing, sitting, walking, climbing, reaching, bending/stooping,lifting (50lbs. max), pushing/pulling (50lbs. max).
WorkingConditions:
Work is performed in a production environment withambient air conditions, loud noise, dangerous equipment, andvariable lighting. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is requiredin all production and loading areas. Office work will be performedin clean, climate-controlled areas with fluorescentlighting.
