What impact you’ll make As a Technical Leader of the HA Rotor and Casing Heat Transfer and Secondary Flows team, you will be an active contributor to the system level heat transfer and flow analysis and for the cooling and sealing design across our heavy duty gas turbine platforms. Job Description What you’ll do Ensure designs and methods meet established GE design practices and design templates and results are effectively documented. Organize resources, coordinate tasks, and actively communicate across teams and locations. Manage work assignments and schedules for a team of engineers, including contractors. Support component and gas turbine testing from test planning to monitoring, post validation test analysis, and part qualification activities. Support installed fleet by addressing product cost out and root cause analysis, when needed. Establish, document, and implement design process improvements for cycle-time reduction and improved design quality. Work closely with performance, aerodynamic, mechanical, other cross functional teams and the Global HT team to ensure successful program execution Ensure team’s work is properly reviewed with peers and experts prior to reporting out to component owners, customers, and leadership. Mentor early career staff and manage contractors. What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science At least 8 additional years of experience in an engineering capacity This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents and protected individuals (e.g., certain refugees and asylees)). Demonstrated ability to lead a team to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to understand customer requirements and draft plans to meet them. A track record of process improvements, and/or design practice/template contributions. Understanding of internal GE Power business processes, organizational roles and responsibilities Demonstrated understanding of heat transfer design methods, gas turbine systems and aerodynamics. The base pay range for this position is 111,200.00 – 185,400.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% bonus.
