New Summary and Accountabilities:
Plans, directs and coordinates technical support for the manufacturing processes by performing the following essential duties: Directs and coordinates day to day work assignments of Manufacturing Engineers Manufacturing Engineering Technicians and conducts performance reviews for direct reports Develops, and evaluates manufacturing methods. Develop and implement solutions to manufacturing problems and improvements in manufacturing methods that result in improved quality and increased productivity while maintaining a safe working environment. Provide training to Operators, Setup Associates, Manufacturing Technicians, Manufacturing Engineering Technicians, and Manufacturing Engineers to improve technical abilities. Interface with all levels in the organization using verbal, written and graphical communication tools to ensure efficient production methods. Design and document tooling designs on drawings that communicate tooling requirements to toolmakers using AUTOCAD software. Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards Confers with management, Production Engineering, JTEKT JP, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, new installation, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential including machine capability studies, etc. Plans, implements and tracks Capital and Non-Capital cost reduction projects and reports to management on a regular basis. Participate in the development of departmental and salary budgets. Support 5-S, Kaizen Team and Koyo Production System, TS 16949 and efforts throughout the plant. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
BS in Engineering; Advanced degree preferred 10 years job-related experience. 5 or more years of related direct supervisory experience. High-volume manufacturing process experience with machining, assembly, and test operations Tier-1 automotive industry experience preferred
