  • ETO Electrical Assemblies leads the electrical & mechanical customer order engineering function for the Sumter Switchboard and Panelboard manufacturing campus.

This role provides strategic leadership and direction, driving continuous improvement and performance excellence in translating customer requirements into approval drawings. It ensures seamless integration of electrical components, including circuit breakers, wiring, power flow systems, mechanical design, 3D bus bar configurations, fabrication prints, and the overall design of Switchboards and Panelboards—aligning customer needs with manufacturing capabilities. Additionally, this position establishes and implements processes to uphold safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and customer expectations. It also spearheads the strategic vision for adopting the latest innovations and tools, accelerating automation, enhancing engineering capabilities, and optimizing the execution of advanced design processes. What you’ll do: Ensure objectives are met within approved budget, schedules, and quality specifications. Develop improvements in engineering methods, standards and procedures to ensure effective use of resources. Deploy MESH (safety) initiatives to support a Zero Incident Culture. Foster a high-performing work team culture throughout the facility. Implement Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) tools. Develop and maintain a competent, quality-centered technical services team. Facilitate routine cross-functional meetings to review order progress and to resolve outstanding order issues to meet customer commitments. Develop and implement processes for measuring and monitoring work while focusing on safety, quality & productivity. Review and evaluate performance, quality and cost improvement objectives. Implement changes and productivity improvements while sustaining positive employee relations and performance. Foster a culture that promotes the Eaton Quality System, Inclusion & Diversity, and the Eaton Leadership Model. Partner with key stakeholders, including internal & external suppliers and customers to facilitate timely communication and accurate information flow. Support key initiatives including Safety, Quality, and Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS).

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution Five (5) years of experience managing people and/or project teams in a manufacturing environment Three (3) years of experience supporting engineered-to-order electrical assemblies and/or panelboards and switchboards Must be currently residing in United States to qualify for relocation or sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution Three (3) years of experience supporting panelboards and switchboards engineering Continuous improvement certifications including six sigma, lean, and related toolsets Experience managing leaders of people Experience with engineering design tools such as CAD, Inventor, and/or engineering configuration tools
