Cost Planning Manager 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars 1111 West Broad Street, Smithville, TN 37166 Job Summary The mission of this role is to find opportunities to increase profit and reduce cost across all new and current projects. By managing critical activities such as New Project Cost/Profit Estimation, Budget Plan vs. Actual analysis, and Continuous Cost Kaizen, our company’s growth can be accelerated. Essential Job Functions & Duties Manage team member activities and set workload priority to achieve company goals Strengthen processes to enhance communication, consolidate/organize data, and provide accurate quotation/analyses Develop team members to strengthen problem solving and other skills Oversee Project Profitability Planning/ROI and Cost Estimation Interface with offsite Sales and Design teams to respond to investigation requests in a timely manner Manage tracking actual cost performance vs predicted costs at a detailed level Support Financial Budget Creation and Analysis Support Financial Reporting to top management as well as Japan parent company Monitor and report on progress of project budgets and profitability to top management as well as Japan parent company Develop and implement new cost control policies and processes Support cost-effective operations for projects and the company’s overall business model Lead Cost Reduction activities across pre-production and mass production projects Recommend ways to improve processes to save time and money Study historical data and trends to improve future estimates Key Dimensions Strong financial acumen and problem solving skills Technical understanding of manufacturing processes, ideally in automotive Self-motivated with a positive attitude and sense of ownership Comfortable communicating across all levels of the organization Ability to adapt and prioritize tasks and responsibilities Qualifications Minimum Requirements High school diploma and 10 years of experience in manufacturing with a concentration in cost-related areas; or bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in manufacturing with a concentration in cost-related areas Background and experience in Finance and/or Business Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Understanding of manufacturing processes, ideally in automotive Strong technical communication skills Strong problem solving skills, self-motivated with a positive attitude and sense of ownership Ability to manage and prioritize work Quick decision-making skills and ability to swiftly take action Pass drug screen and background check Ideal, but not required Experience with ERP solutions like

EPICOR CMS

is a plus Strong Technical or Engineering background is a plus Experience in a Japanese company or with Japanese culture is a plus Fluency in Japanese is a plus Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or other advanced data management techniques
