The Instrumentation/Electrical (I/E) Superintendent/Planner is responsible for the detailed planning, coordination, and execution support of all I/E activities during refinery turnaround events. This position plays a critical role in the successful delivery of turnaround scopes by developing comprehensive work packages, sequencing jobs efficiently, managing contractor interfaces, and ensuring work is executed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Key responsibilities include the preparation and validation of job plans, materials requisitions, and construction packages for instrumentation and low/medium voltage electrical systems. The role also requires proactive field verification through walkdowns, scope validation, redlining P&IDs and electrical drawings, and coordinating with operations, inspection, engineering, and other disciplines. The I/E Superintendent/Planner will act as a liaison between turnaround execution teams and contractors, ensuring effective communication and consistent implementation of work packages. The role also includes leading or supporting field execution during the turnaround window, including daily coordination meetings, work front availability planning, and tracking job progress.
Experience:
8-10 years of experience in Instrumentation and Electrical planning or supervision within turnaround or large-scale maintenance projects in refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments. Minimum 3 turnaround cycles of planning/execution experience in a lead or superintendent capacity. Demonstrated knowledge of I/E systems, including control valves, transmitters, SIS, PLCs, switchgear, MCCs, power distribution, and temporary power setups. Familiarity with turnaround planning software (Primavera P6, SAP PM, Microsoft Project).
