Job Description Summary This position leads and improves the site systems and processes to ensure compliance with the site NPDES, SID, and synthetic minor air permit, and RCRA waste process and shipment. This position will work with Operations leaders as all levels to engage with employees to accomplish these tasks. This is a combination of floor and permit/process administration. Position works with Operations to drive the culture of continuous and durable compliance. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Lead air, water and waste programs for a chemical facility
Facilitate implementation of programs to ensure all employees understand their responsibilities in implementing programs and maintaining compliance with corporate and government requirements
Work with site leaders to develop and deploy accountability metrics and processes
Work with site leaders to identify opportunities for improvement and lead projects to enact the improvement
Possess specialized knowledge in all environmental media.
Serve as best practice/quality resource in developing and implementing environmental programs.
Awareness of latest technical developments in environmental topics, especially related to regulation and control.
Contributes towards strategy and policy development
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 5 years in environmental compliance experience Desired Characteristics This role requires significant experience in the Environmental Health & Safety & Fixed Facilities. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
