Environmental Engineer Job Description This role involves the design and permitting of landfill, landfill gas collection and control systems, industrial wastewater, and stormwater systems. You will prepare construction plans, specifications, and construction documents, and manage solid waste facility and environmental control system infrastructure permit applications. The job requires collecting samples from hazardous and non-hazardous sites, conducting construction quality assurance observations, and coordinating with contractors and clients. Responsibilities Prepare solid waste facility and environmental control system infrastructure permit applications and regulatory agency submittals. Collect samples from hazardous and non-hazardous sites including soil, air, surface water, and groundwater. Conduct drilling activities, including monitoring, well installation, borehole logging, well development, and sampling. Perform construction quality assurance observations to ensure compliance with construction standards. Conduct quality control reviews on reports, design plans, design calculations, and data before submission. Coordinate independently with contractors, subcontractors, and clients with project manager support. Communicate effectively with other technical professionals to achieve client goals. Coordinate with GIS and CAD drafters for design plans or use AutoCAD or ArcGIS for basic design plans. Prepare calculations in support of design documents and reports. Essential Skills Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems, or Geotechnical Engineering. Experience working with AutoCAD. Valid Driver’s License with a driving record in good standing. Ability to write reports and adapt to QA/QC field needs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with geosynthetics and soil sampling. Degree in Environmental Engineering, Sciences, or Geology. Work Environment The position will primarily be office-based but requires field travel as needed.
