The client is looking for health andsafety professionals with a background in Athletic Training (ATC)to help support Client’s injury prevention program. In thisposition, you will be a part of the onsite Environmental Health &Safety (EHS) Team and will perform both injury prevention andinjury management (first aid) activities. This position will workin a Client Fulfillment Center and report directly to the SiteSafety Manager. The Injury Prevention Specialist will be expectedto proactively analyze tasks for potential ergonomic and safetyissues, perform biomechanical and ergonomic assessments, providefirst aid care to injured employees, and execute other Clientinjury prevention activities. The IPS will provide conservativecare to injury Associates, but also observe Associates performingtheir job task and educate them on ways to perform their taskseffectively with less stress to the irritated body part. OnsiteIPSs will proactively observe ergonomic practices and educateassociates to improve technique prior to the onset of soreness orinjury.
Primary responsibilities:
Provide triage, first aid and/ orreferral to outside medical provider, if indicated. Maintainrecords of first aid care provided to associates. Minimize the riskof injury of employees through awareness, education andintervention. Attend and participate at “start-up” meetings to leaddaily stretching routines. Understand and learn each department andcommunicate the proper techniques on how to prevent soft tissueinjuries. Evaluate trends in soft tissue injuries and developaction items to address injury trends. Provide daily activity logsto the safety team and senior leadership team. Provide analysis ofall onsite incidents on a monthly basis including recommendationson how to reduce the risk and severity of injuries within thewarehouse. Provide accommodation recommendations related to jobplacement for all employees on restrictions given by a medicalprovider. Understand and learn each department and job functionwithin the warehouse to fully understand the body mechanicsinvolved in every task. Be actively involved with improvements tothe standard work process. Frequent “floor time” to interact withboth associates and managers, providing coaching on observedat-risk work habits. Attend and speak at daily “start-up” meetings.
Job Qualifications:
Must be a Certified Athletic Trainer, by eitherthe National Athletic Trainers’ Association or equivalent StateCertification Bachelor’s Degree Must have a valid card evidencingsuccessful completion of a CPR course at the Basic Life Support forHealthcare Provider level (American Heart Association) orProfessional Rescuer (American Red Cross) Associate will berequired to maintain all medical credentials Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Preferred Skills:
Experience in an occupationalsetting. Certified to Teach First Aid, CPR, AED training.
Experience with an industrial wellness program. Experience workingwith Worker’s Compensation. Experience leading / managing a team.
