Ingenuity has a proactive team of experienced engineers and designers committed to partnering with the client so that we may produce a quality product tailored to their scope, schedule, and budget. We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Designer to join our team. As a Plumbing Designer, you will develop the ability to produce plumbing system designs for High Rise Mixed-use Buildings, Resorts, Hotels, Multi-Family, Entertainment and more while assisting the project engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

Understands and develops advanced plumbing theory/calculations, plumbing system components and devices. Interprets codes, standards and design inputs with the ability to apply them within the design. Develops calculations, design narratives and work plans to be used as the basis of design of the plumbing systems and project specifications with minimal direction. Assumes the role of Engineer of Record for own projects. Reviews the work of junior team members and provides guidance on how they can complete their designs. Provides mentorship to associates with less experience and training. Has working knowledge in Revit, AutoCAD, energy calculation, word processing/spreadsheet and other basic software to support setting up projects and assist in project flow. Applies advanced engineering principles to solve technical and coordination issues. Oversees project designs and budgets with minimal supervision. Attends internal coordination meetings with the ability to take and give guidance, make technical decisions and ensure project goals are met. Travel to jobsites as needed to resolve any challenges. Nurtures relationships with clients to foster additional work. Enhances leadership and management abilities. Provides cross-disciplinary technical and engineering assistance. Contributes to the business development efforts. Refines and develops processes to improve efficiency and quality. Takes personal ownership of the work produced.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with P.E. Significant proven technical and field experience. Thorough understanding of the components of mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems that require plumbing system support, with the ability to coordinate these disciplinary requirements into the plumbing design. Previous leadership experience preferred. Experience working in a professional A/E office, Consulting Firm, Construction Contractor, or equivalent. Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, energy calculation, Microsoft/spreadsheet and other basic software. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and engage with external stakeholders and teams. Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods, with occasional bending and the capacity to lift up to 10 lbs. as needed. Ability to travel.
