Commissioning Agent (CxA) Position Available In Palm Beach, Florida

Commissioning Agent (CxA) JLRD Inc West Palm Beach, FL 33401 JLRD Inc, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Commissioning Agent (CxA) to execute the commissioning process for a variety of building systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that new and existing buildings operate according to the owner’s project requirements, basis of design, and contract documents. This role requires a strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing. and building automation systems, as well as excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive commissioning plans based on project requirements. Review design documents (drawings, specifications, submittals) to ensure commissionability and identify potential issues. Lead and facilitate commissioning meetings with owners, design professionals, contractors, and other stakeholders. Develop detailed functional performance test procedures for various building systems. Identify and document deficiencies, and work collaboratively with the project team to develop and implement corrective actions. Track and verify the completion of all commissioning activities and deficiency resolutions. Prepare comprehensive commissioning reports that clearly document the commissioning process, findings, and recommendations. Provide technical guidance and support to the project team throughout the commissioning process. Maintain accurate and organized commissioning documentation. Stay up-to-date on industry standards, best practices, and technological advancements in building commissioning. Perform site visits and field work, including climbing ladders and accessing mechanical rooms and Rooftop equipment.

Qualifications:

Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) certification from a recognized organization (e.g., BCA, ACG). Minimum of 5 years of experience in building commissioning or a related field (e.g., HVAC design, controls). Experience with retro-commissioning or existing building commissioning. Demonstrated experience in developing and executing commissioning plans and functional performance tests. Thorough understanding of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems. Proficiency in reading and interpreting design drawings, specifications, and control sequences. Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and guidelines (e.g., ASHRAE, LEED, IECC). Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders. Strong problem-solving 1 and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues. Proven ability to manage projects effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites in and out of state as required. Experience with specific commissioning software or platforms.
