About this role As a Lead Controls Engineer, you will be crucial to ALC’s businessthrough the designing of advanced building automation systemscreated specifically for each individual customer. We are lookingfor someone who works well in a team and has excellentproblem-solving, time management, and multi-tasking skills. Youwill work on solving complex problems and lead smaller projectswith less experienced engineers to help develop their skills. Key Responsibilities Design and program increasingly advanced building automationsystems, site-specificconfiguration of control system, and controlalgorithms. Adhere to project requirements and company and customerstandards of design, programming,and implementation. Create a clear design document for project teams with technicalinformation. Document and communicate the building automation system designand revisions. Develop graphical and text-based interfaces for buildingautomation systems. Test programming and interfaces prior toimplementation. Provide technical support to sales representatives to ensurecustomers’ needs are met. Identify and communicate project opportunities andrisks. Support of functional testing for complex buildingsystems. Jobsite visits if necessary to aid in project support. Adherence to safety standards. High regard for employee andsubcontractor safety. Adherence to ethics standards. Exemplifies the Carrier code ofethics. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School diploma or GED 4+ years of HVAC controls or Building Automationexperience Possess and maintain valid and current form of governmentissued identification. Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of HVAC controls or BuildingAutomation experience OR Associate Degree with 6+ years ofHVACcontrols or Building Automation experience OR High School Diplomaor GED with 8+ years of HVAC controls or Building Automationexperience. Advanced degree in an Engineering or Constructiondiscipline. Proficient with primary functions of building automation systemsoftware and associated engineering tools, Automated Logic suitespreferred. Strong working knowledge of complex Automated Logic software,hardware, peripherals, add-ons, and services. Proficient with third-party communication protocols used inbuilding automation, such as BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, N2,etc. Understanding with Enterprise IP networks and Microsoft Office(Outlook, Excel, Word) and Visio, or similar software. Proficient with written sequences of operations, diagrammaticdepictions of systems.
