Join a growing team where you’ll play a key role in managing projects, leading design efforts, and supporting business development across a range of impactful environmental and solid waste projects.
? About the

Role:

We’re seeking an Environmental Engineer with experience in solid waste management and facility development (transfer stations, recycling centers, material recovery facilities, etc.).
In this position, you’ll:
Interpret and apply federal, state, and local regulations
Review and manage technical reports, site-specific data, design plans, environmental permits, cost estimates, and construction documents
Oversee project development from feasibility through construction/start-up
Lead or support business development and client relations efforts
Collaborate with both senior leaders and junior team members to ensure project success
Travel occasionally to project sites or industry events (approx. 2-3 nights/month)

Key Responsibilities:

Perform engineering calculations and direct CADD for design drawing development
Prepare detailed reports, plans, bid documents, and certifications
Create and manage project schedules, budgets, and proposals
Oversee construction projects for compliance with plans and safety standards
Analyze environmental and site data (maps, aerials, reports, etc.)
Stamp/certify design work and ensure quality control across deliverables
Coordinate across multi-project clients and contribute to long-term client success

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or related Environmental field
Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain it within 6 months
3-5+ years of experience in solid waste facility development or related field
Strong project management skills (budgets, timelines, invoicing)
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and relevant engineering software
Working knowledge of CAD (3D preferred)
Highly organized and self-motivated—comfortable working remotely or in a team
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Located in Charleston, SC
