JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems. This role oversees the operational aspects of the hotel related to engineering and maintenance.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional guest service at all times. Offer excellent service to internal customers as appropriate. Assist in developing and implementing plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds, and other assets in a safe and acceptable state of repair. Conduct site inspections. Perform preventive maintenance tasks. Respond promptly to customer care calls for non-functioning equipment. Ensure the hotel complies with all local, state, and federal laws. Inspect, test, and certify all emergency and life safety equipment and systems in accordance with hotel standards or the authority having jurisdiction. Actively participate in energy conservation programs in line with company standards. Review guest and meeting planner comment cards to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Assist with managing all vendor contracts under the Engineering Department per hotel standards. Support special projects and renovations as needed. Repair and program the hotel’s electronic lock system. Assist in scheduling preventive maintenance tasks. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma required; technical or vocational school preferred. Hotel experience preferred but not required. Excellent communication skills, professional presentation, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while making independent decisions. General knowledge of technical fields such as carpentry, painting, and electrical work.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weight (minimum of 75 lbs). Ability to bend, lift, and stand or walk for the duration of the shift. Must be able to clearly convey information and ideas.
