Mechanical Engineer Job Description This position plays a crucial role in the team responsible for the HVAC design of New Nuclear Power Plants. The Mechanical Engineer will perform activities within a team environment, collaborating with a global network of partner organizations and suppliers to advance detailed design and deliver successful Nuclear Power Plant projects. The role involves contributing to the HVAC design for the

power plant, working closely with engineers and other partners. Responsibilities Support requirement and design progression for the

BWRX HVAC

design. Assist in reviewing vendor supplier documentation associated with the

BWRX HVAC

systems. Demonstrate competency in computer programs and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams. Prepare and review system design deliverables, including system design specifications, piping and instrument diagrams, heat load calculations, and equipment sizing for the

BWRX-300 HVAC

systems. Manage project work schedules and priorities. Provide on-time, quality delivery of equipment packages and engineering documentation in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines. Essential Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. HVAC knowledge within nuclear power plants. Experience with piping and instrument diagrams, heat load, equipment sizing, and system design specifications. Minimum of 8 years of experience in performing design, fabrication, and installation of steam turbines and supporting systems in nuclear or combined cycle plants. Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant Systems Design. Expert knowledge of relevant design codes and requirements. Previous nuclear plant or design experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or greater in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university. Work Environment This role offers a fully remote work environment with minimal travel, likely zero. It provides an opportunity to support next-generation nuclear development.
