Identify & distinguish different point types in Building Automation System Controller (AO, AI, BO, BI). Locate&identify components of commercial Air Handling Unit syst capable of heating & cooling multiple floors. Locate & identify modular chiller syst, Plate & frame heat exchangers, shell & tube heat exchangers, free cooling mechanical systs components which provide Chilled, Condenser & Heating hot water to various mechanical systems. Commission project w/3rd-party commissioner requiring ability to understand & run thru sequence of ops on each syst. Document Project Start-up & Progress Tracking. Liaise b/w Mechanical & controls contractor. Assist subcontractor w/construction process. Work on ctrl panel startup & configuration (direct connect/standalone). Work w/Relays-coil & contact verification, Starters, VFD, & System safety devices. Use ctrl syst tech that regulate & maintain HVAC system components & control system analysis utilization of numerical, data processing SW for effective ctrl solutions. Use ctrl syst tools e.g. Lan cable tester, Multimeter (testing on voltages, amps AC/DC, clamp option), Serial cables & uses, Tone generator, Crimping tool, Fluke volts tester, Routers. Use ctrl system process Ctrl syst distribution v. centralized, Linear ctrl solution, PID. Use platforms Niagara web-based systs, Alerton/Compass web-based systs, Distech web-based systs, Ethernet/IP connections, Modbus RS-485, Modbus

Integration, Lon. Provide controls database, graphics, & programming for sequences as provided by the Design Specialist, project specifications, or other applicable sources. Provide accurate controls of systems start-up & commissioning including point-to-point checkout on projects as assigned. Verify correct alarm, annunciation, & other actions by equipment, devices, panels, & annunciators of controls projects. Develop the specialized software required for a complete integrated building automation system or energy management system. Work with multiple proprietary systems to make them talk on a unified platform using specialized software & specialized code where required including Niagara, Alerton based software. Use specialized software to write custom applications for building performance or provide automation for system backup for ongoing building management. Use reporting software to follow-up on building performance & make adjustments to enhance the performance & tuning of the system. Use existing software & develop enhancements to provide additional functionality for energy reporting & graphic interfaces for customer dashboards. Develop custom scripts to query existing databases for service upgrades. Develop enhancements to existing applications to enhance functionality & efficiency. Support installation & startup personnel with adjustments to software as required. Provide information & support for other contractors on the project site. Debug mechanical & installation issues that can come up when executing the static & dynamic start-up & commissioning of building controls. Provide start up documentation including, check out logs & commissioning documents as required for assigned projects. Ensure timely software backups are created for projects & software development. Provide service support on existing systems ensuring proper & efficient operation as well as providing ongoing support to the facility’s building engineers. Complete time sheets, service orders, & other paperwork required for this position in an accurate & timely manner. Assist in preparing of submittal documents, as-built drawings, & Operation & Maintenance Manuals. Initiate the transition from Operations Team to Service Team. Verify that proper backups, as built & facility performance software is in place. Assist Sales team during estimating phase including potential product or system demonstrations. Assist in preparing as-built drawings & Operation & Maintenance Manuals. Assist in turnover of projects from Operations Team to Service Team.
REQS:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, HVAC Controls Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer or occupation involving HVAC Engineering. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) HVAC system operations and mechanical and electrical systems within a facility; (2)Computer operating systems including MS Office Suite of products; (3) ACAD, or similar program/software; (4) Configuring and debugging computer and networking problems; (5) Electronic equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, and oscilloscopes; (6) Troubleshooting electric and electronic circuitry including reading and interpreting electrical and electronic diagrams; (7) AC power circuitry including breakers, and multi-phase power (120VAC and greater); and (8) DDC or special systems that control buildings.
Travel:
10% International and Domestic Travel. No Telecommuting.
WAGE RANGE
