SUMMARY:

Describes the job’s primary purpose or contribution to the departmentanization.
The Commissioning Agent will be responsible for missioning, retro-missioning, and/or monitoring-based missioning of projects. The scope of work may also include facilities condition assessments, construction administration, plan review, and plan checks for Bureau Veritas Architecture & Engineering.
Commissioning Agent skills require an ability to work on projects om concept stage through construction. Commissioning Agent skills require an ability to interface directly with clients, contractors, and facility operations personnel. The ideal Commissioning Agent candidate will be able to fully municate and address client problems/questions/ments in a clear, professional manner. He/she will develop the missioning plan, prepare pre-functional check lists, develop functional performance test procedures, oversee functional performance testing, and develop the final missioning report for the missioning scope of work.
The Commissioning Agent will act as the designated agent to plete the missioning scope of services.
The objective of missioning is to provide documented confirmation that a facility fulfills the functional and performance requirements of the owner, designer, occupants, and operators. To reach this goal, it is necessary for the Commissioning Agent to establish and document the criteria for system function, performance, and maintainability; as well as to verify and document pliance with these criteria.
This role is hands-on, on-site at JFK Airport in Queens, supporting the construction and missioning of the brand-new terminal. You’ll own the mechanical, HVAC, and electrical systems missioning—ensuring every system not only works but performs exactly as designed and intended. Proximity to NYC is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Core functions:
On a missioning assignment, the Commissioning Agent shall conduct the following tasks (as applicable):
Act as the missioning authority.
Review the design to bee familiar with the design criteria and expected performance.
Provide design review ments as they affect the missioning process.
Develop a missioning plan.
Conduct missioning meetings.
Review submittals during construction as they affect the missioning process.
Verify installation and functional performance of the following:
HVAC systems
Building automation systems
Lighting control systems
Plumbing domestic hot water systems
Other system as required
Develop pre-functional test procedures.
Oversee the functional testing and plete the functional testing forms.
Complete and submit a missioning report.
Oversee Contractor-provided operator training and review training materials.
Complete warranty phase missioning follow-up

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

Preferred:

Accredited Professional Degree in Engineering

Required:

Minimum five years professional experience within construction realm.

Required:

5+ years of experience specifically in missioning, including experience with missioning of parable projects in size and plexity.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Required:

Accredited Commissiong Certification such as CxA (Certified Commissioning Authority), CCP (Certified Commissioning Professional) or BCxP (Building Commissioning Professional)

Preferred:

Professional Engineer licensure (any state)
Valid driver’s license is required with no significant MVA points/violations (clean driving record).
Other qualifications:
Must have expertise in working with missioning software like Facility Grid and CxAlloy.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis in MS Excel.
Strong written and verbal munication skills.
Excellent time management skills including ability to perform multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently.
You can traverse, observe equipment, and record data and photos on safely accessible roofs and other high or open areas, which may require ladder and/or hatch access.
You are fortable and willing to work in densely equipped mechanical and electrical spaces requiring dedicated focus on safety protocol.
