Facility Engineering Support- Design Authority-SRS-Aiken, SC Duration:

1 YEAR with two (2) 1 Year Renewal Options Four (4) Position Available! US Citizenship Required •Open to some level of hybrid work but will need individuals to be capable of being on site as the position requires

JOB SUMMARY

Provides infrastructure project design engineering services focused on the modernization of facilities to address aging systems and support expanding infrastructure needs. Responsibilities include technical planning, design development, and coordination to ensure long-term operational reliability and capacity growth.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Establish Technical Requirements by developing System Design Descriptions (SDD) and reviewing conceptual design packages from design agencies. Provide agencies with technical input on design changes required during design phases. Perform walk-down systems in the field and support construction non-conformance issues in real-time Provide Planning and Construction Support as requested to assure that equipment and material meet the specification requirements. Engineering services shall be provided using SRS processes and procedures. SRS will provide programmatic guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Degree in Electrical Engineering or BS Degree in Engineering and current registration as a Professional Engineer in

Electrical Engineering Experience/Skills:

The ideal candidates would be experienced in Conduct of Engineering requirements to include Design Authority experience. Savannah River Site Design Authority is a plus The critical resource need includes electrical (e.g. power and I&C experience) and mechanical (ventilation/HVAC & piping experience) engineers

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Area Security Access:

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance. Subcontractor must have an active eFOCI registration and approved Facility Level Clearance with

DOE/ NNSA. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L OR Q) within the past two (2)years are preferred. Previous experience in developing, reviewing, and maintaining SRS safety basis document is preferred. Previous SRS experience is preferred.

Work Hours:

Up to a 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules including 4/l0’s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80’s (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes SRS holidays. Each workday has 30 minutes lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager.
