In this dynamic position, you will work closely with the Chief Engineer, ensuring all systems function seamlessly and our guests enjoy a superior experience at every turn. Your hands-on expertise will drive essential maintenance operations, while your innovative approach will contribute to sustainable practices and cost-effective solutions. Responsibilities You shall oversee the daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring all equipment and systems are functioning optimally to maintain a high standard of guest satisfaction. We expect you to collaborate closely with the Chief Engineer to plan and execute preventative maintenance programs effectively, minimizing downtime and enhancing operational efficiency. You will manage and guide a team of engineers and technicians, providing them with clear instructions, support, and development opportunities to foster a productive work environment. We require that you conduct regular inspections of the property’s facilities and infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions promptly. You shall monitor energy consumption patterns and implement initiatives to enhance energy efficiency throughout the hotel, aligning with environmental sustainability goals. We expect you to coordinate with external contractors and vendors as needed, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and up to quality standards. You will be responsible for maintaining detailed records of all maintenance activities and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies. We rely on you to assist in emergency situations by executing established protocols swiftly and effectively, safeguarding guests and staff. Requirements You must demonstrate proficiency in managing and overseeing maintenance operations of all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. We require you to possess strong problem-solving skills to effectively troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues that may arise within the property. Your role will involve collaborating with contractors and vendors to ensure timely completion and quality of work on ongoing projects. You should have experience in maintaining compliance with local codes and regulations related to building safety and environmental health standards. We need you to excel in implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment and facilities. You are expected to manage emergency situations efficiently, ensuring safety protocols are followed and disruptions are minimized. We seek your ability to lead a team by providing guidance, training, and motivation to ensure high performance in daily engineering tasks. You should be proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders and managing inventory efficiently.
Qualifications:
Required Prior Experience:
2+ years of engineering experience to include mechanical, electrical and plumbing
Preferred Prior Experience:
Prior supervisor/leadership experience Prior Hotel Experience Experience working with industrial laundry & kitchen equipment
Preferred Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Licenses/ Certification:
HVAC Certification Required Technology:
Basic computer knowledge Ability to use web-based applications
Physical:
Lifting up to 50lbs occasionally Lifting up to 15lbs regularly, standing, bending, pushing and/or pulling. Ability to navigate the property for up to four (4) hours within a shift
Other:
