We are currently seeking aFacilities Project Engineer to support operations at aninternational OEM automotive manufacturing plant in Southern MiddleTennessee. This is a full-time, on-site role supporting facilitysystems, infrastructure integration, and capital improvementprojects for an initial 24-month assignment with strong potentialfor direct hire. Job Summary As a Facilities Project Engineer, youwill serve as an on-site technical representative and projectleader supporting the execution of facility and infrastructureprojects within an operational automotive manufacturingenvironment. This role requires strong coordination with OEMproduction teams, equipment suppliers, contractors, andcross-functional engineers. Your primary focus will be onmaintaining operational continuity while executing upgrades,expansions, and process-supporting infrastructure projects. KeyResponsibilities Act as the technical field lead for facility andinfrastructure projects supporting manufacturing lines, utilities,and process equipment Coordinate with Production, Maintenance,Facilities Engineering, and Safety teams to define and validatescopes of work Oversee on-site execution of projects includingcontractor coordination, safety compliance, and schedule adherenceSupport installation and integration of mechanical, electrical, andcivil systems in alignment with manufacturing requirements Performdaily field walks and construction reviews to ensure compliancewith specifications, standards, and plant requirements Interfacewith OEM engineering teams, suppliers, and installation contractorsto resolve design and field issues in real-time Participate incommissioning activities, punch list development, and systemturnover documentation Provide technical feedback during the designphase on constructability, sequencing, and manufacturability Ensureall plant-based construction activities are aligned with productionoperations, minimizing downtime Track project progress, changeorders, and report on-site activity to senior engineeringleadership Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical,Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering from anABET-accredited program 5 years of experience in field engineeringor project execution within an industrial or automotivemanufacturing environment Strong understanding of manufacturingplant systems, including utilities, structural interfaces, andproduction equipment requirements Hands-on experience withcontractor oversight, site safety protocols, and field-levelproblem solving Ability to read and interpret multi-disciplineconstruction and manufacturing drawings (MEP, structural,architectural) Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project trackingtools such as MS Project Capable of working independently in afast-paced manufacturing setting with limited supervision Strongcommunication skills and ability to work collaboratively acrossdepartments Preferred Qualifications Experience in the automotiveor Tier 1 manufacturing sector Knowledge of facility and utilitysystems such as HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, and powerdistribution Familiarity with IBC, NEC, NFPA, and OSHA constructionsafety standards OSHA 10 or 30 Hour Certification Experience withAutoCAD and field layout tools Familiarity with delivery methodssuch as Design-Build, GMP, or EPC Compensation & BenefitsResourceTek offers a competitive compensation and benefits packageincluding health, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, andsupplemental insurance.
