ResourceTek (in partnership with a global automotivemanufacturer) ResourceTek, the Human Capital division of an ENR-ranked,multi-discipline engineering firm, delivers specialized technicalservices to industrial and government sectors across engineering,construction, and related fields. We are currently seeking aFacilities Project Engineer to support operations at aninternational OEM automotive manufacturing plant in Southern MiddleTennessee. This is a full-time, on-site role supporting facilitysystems, infrastructure integration, and capital improvementprojects for an initial 24-month assignment with strong potentialfor direct hire. Job Summary As a Facilities Project Engineer, you will serve as an on-sitetechnical representative and project leader supporting theexecution of facility and infrastructure projects within anoperational automotive manufacturing environment. This rolerequires strong coordination with OEM production teams, equipmentsuppliers, contractors, and cross-functional engineers. Yourprimary focus will be on maintaining operational continuity whileexecuting upgrades, expansions, and process-supportinginfrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Act as the technical field lead for facility and infrastructureprojects supporting manufacturing lines, utilities, and processequipment Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Facilities Engineering,and Safety teams to define and validate scopes of work Oversee on-site execution of projects including contractorcoordination, safety compliance, and schedule adherence Support installation and integration of mechanical, electrical, andcivil systems in alignment with manufacturing requirements Perform daily field walks and construction reviews to ensurecompliance with specifications, standards, and plantrequirements Interface with OEM engineering teams, suppliers, and installationcontractors to resolve design and field issues in real-time Participate in commissioning activities, punch list development,and system turnover documentation Provide technical feedback during the design phase onconstructability, sequencing, and manufacturability Ensure all plant-based construction activities are aligned withproduction operations, minimizing downtime Track project progress, change orders, and report on-site activityto senior engineering leadership Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or IndustrialEngineering from an ABET-accredited program 5+ years of experience in field engineering or project executionwithin an industrial or automotive manufacturing environment Strong understanding of manufacturing plant systems, includingutilities, structural interfaces, and production equipmentrequirements Hands-on experience with contractor oversight, site safetyprotocols, and field-level problem solving Ability to read and interpret multi-discipline construction andmanufacturing drawings (MEP, structural, architectural) Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project tracking tools such asMS Project Capable of working independently in a fast-paced manufacturingsetting with limited supervision Strong communication skills and ability to work collaborativelyacross departments Preferred Qualifications Experience in the automotive or Tier 1 manufacturing sector Knowledge of facility and utility systems such as HVAC, compressedair, chilled water, and power distribution Familiarity with IBC, NEC, NFPA, and OSHA construction safetystandards OSHA 10 or 30 Hour Certification Experience with AutoCAD and field layout tools Familiarity with delivery methods such as Design-Build, GMP, orEPC Compensation & Benefits ResourceTek offers a competitive compensation and benefits packageincluding health, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, andsupplemental insurance.
