Job Description

Landscape Maintenance Foreman – Parks & Grounds (Roads, Bridges & Engineering) 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 6449 Haley Road, Memphis, TN 38134 Position Summary Works under general supervision to coordinate activities of unskilled employees and/or inmates, to perform work activities, including, but not limited to, landscape maintenance of Shelby County properties.

Pay Grade:

41H Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education Minimum Qualifications 1. Two (2) years of experience on-the-job or formal training in landscape maintenance, preferably in a lead capacity; AND 2. High school diploma or possess a GED; 3. An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience. 4.

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Coordinates the landscape maintenance activities of assigned work crew(s). 2. Performs inspections of the work assigned of unskilled employees and/or inmate crew(s). 3. Participates in the work of a crew engaged to accomplish landscape maintenance and demonstrate tasks to be performed. 4. Obtains and keeps inventory of assigned landscape maintenance equipment and supplies. 5. Operates landscape maintenance equipment, when necessary to assist in completion of job assignments. 6. Maintains required record systems. 7. Performs other related duties as required or directed. KSAs 1. Ability to direct and monitor the work of others. 2. Knowledge of landscape maintenance. 3. Skills to operate all necessary landscape maintenance equipment and/or tools to assist in performing of job and to identify equipment maintenance needs. 4. Ability to effectively communicate written and verbally. 5. Knowledge of activities and projects carried out in organization units. 6. Ability to maintain records and perform math calculations. 7. Knowledge of maintenance and construction repair improvements in a specified area of work. 8. Ability to perform routine maintenance on landscape equipment, tools, etc . Special Requirements 1. Must possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license or secure one as of date of employment. 2. Must be able to travel to other Shelby County locations. 3. Must pass a physical examination.
