Job Description
Accomplishes all actions assisting a Corrosion Control Specialist or higher. This position is represented by the Industrial Division of the Communications Workers of America (IUE-CWA).Performs paint stripping and prepares surfaces for painting by cleaning, treating, masking, and wiping.
Removes inspection plates, panels, and related items to provide access for inspection and repair, and replaces items when work is completed.
Annotates maintenance action in aircraft records and required forms, and is knowledgeable in CAMS documentation.
Tow aircraft associated with the corrosion control process.
Wears the appropriate safety equipment for corrosion treatment and painting operations.
May be assigned to maintain TO files, bench stock, shop stock, CTKs, or hazardous waste areas.
Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety always.
Operates portable fire-fighting equipment.
Shall assist other personnel and work centers as directed.
Receives cross-utilization training (CUT) and is qualified to perform those maintenance tasks.
Shall perform other duties assigned to include TDY and travel.
Education A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.
Completion of the corrosion control career development course or completion of equivalent training is desired.
Experience Must have one year of recent basic preparation/spray painting experience or formal training in preparation and painting techniques.
Licenses/ Certification/ Registration Current driver’s license, proof of U.S. citizenshipMust be able to obtain and maintain a flight line driver’s license.
Special knowledge, skills, & abilities Must promote Company values, policies, and standards of conduct.
Must be customer-oriented and ensure professional coordination with base agencies.
When using a respirator, one must be able to obtain a good face piece-to-face seal.
Must wear the appropriate safety equipment for corrosion treatment and painting operations.
Must obtain all certifications required to perform the job requirements.
Must be able to work day shift, night shift, or weekend duty as required.
