Job Description
Overview:
We’re looking for a highly skilled PCB Designer to join our aerospace engineering team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Siemens Xpedition and a strong command of IPC standards to ensure designs meet the rigorous performance, reliability, and safety requirements of aerospace applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop complex PCB layouts using Siemens Xpedition, adhering to IPC-2221/2222 and other relevant IPC standards. Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to create robust, lightweight, and manufacturable designs suitable for aerospace environments. Create and manage detailed schematic diagrams, component footprints, and PCB libraries. Perform signal integrity and power integrity analysis in collaboration with simulation teams. Optimize board layouts for thermal performance, high-reliability interconnects, and harsh operating conditions. Conduct DRC, ERC, and constraint-based validation throughout the design lifecycle. Participate in rigorous design reviews and FAA/DOD compliance assessments.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience designing PCBs with Siemens Xpedition or similar software. Proficiency with IPC Class 2 and Class 3 design requirements, especially IPC-2221, IPC-7351, and
IPC-6012
standards. Experience with aerospace-grade design practices, including thermal mitigation, vibration tolerance, and outgassing considerations. Familiarity with AS9100 documentation processes and traceability requirements. Strong knowledge of multilayer board stack-ups, impedance control, and high-density interconnects (HDI). Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related experience. Exposure to DO-254 compliant design processes. Experience with RF design or mixed-signal environments. Familiarity with 3D
ECAD/MCAD
integration and STEP model generation.
