9/80 (Employees work 9 out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, with every other Friday off) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented PCB Designer to join our engineering team in Rochester, NY . This role supports the development of advanced radio communication systems for military and first responders. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using PCB design software to produce rigid, flex, and rigid-flex PCB layouts that meet performance, manufacturability, and quality standards. The position reports directly to the PCB Design Manager . Key Responsibilities Utilize Mentor PADS layout software to design and revise PCB layouts integrating schematic, mechanical, and manufacturing inputs Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve fabrication, assembly, and testing challenges using Valor NPI tools Design complex PCB layouts for RF, digital, analog, and power supply applications Develop and maintain design files, BOMs, drawings, and documentation within PLM systems Create PCB stackups and model controlled impedance structures Conduct peer reviews and contribute to layout quality assurance processes Develop and maintain PCB layout design guidelines and documentation Assist with evaluating and implementing new PCB design tools and methodologies Continuously improve internal design procedures, checklists, and standards Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of PCB design experience OR Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience OR minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree Preferred Skills Strong understanding of the PCB design lifecycle, from schematic through assembly Knowledge of design tools such as PADS, Xpedition, Cadence, Valor , and related simulation software Familiarity with design elements including schematic capture, BOMs, mechanical integration, and documentation Experience collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams Competence in performing and leading peer reviews of complex PCB layouts Ability to create and manage PCB stackups and apply DFM/DFT principles Compensation & Benefits Comprehensive benefits package including: Health, dental, vision, and disability insurance 401(k) with company match Flexible spending accounts Employee assistance program (EAP) Paid time off, holidays, and parental leave Education assistance Email is the best way to reach me
