$40-$45/hr Position Overview We are looking for a proactive and collaborative Lead HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) Engineer to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. This hands-on role is responsible for ensuring workplace health and safety standards are met and exceeded, while driving employee engagement and compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with a passion for continuous improvement and safety excellence. Key Qualifications Strong foundation in Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations Proven ability to engage and collaborate with employees at all levels Hands-on, action-oriented, and solutions-driven Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations. Lead safety initiatives across facilities, providing input on the design and improvement of work areas, workflows, and equipment to enhance safety. Prepare, revise, and manage HSE documentation including manuals, reports, and compliance records. Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure ongoing compliance with all regulatory standards. Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and maintain awareness of evolving EHS laws and industry best practices. Promote a culture of safety through employee training, engagement, and participation programs. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field (preferred) 6-8 years of experience in an HSE or related role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment Deep understanding of relevant EHS regulations and practices Ability to work under structured guidance while also exercising sound judgment in a leadership capacity This is an exciting opportunity to lead with impact in a safety-critical role.
