Education (Specific forthe Posting): Graduate of an ABET accredited Fire ProtectionEngineering program. OR BS degree in an engineering discipline and at least one of thefollowing:

  • Registered Professional Engineer in Fire Protection.
  • Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) NICET Level III/IVcertification in the Fire Alarm, Detection and Signaling area ofexpertise
  • Professional or Fellow Member in the
SFPE Experience/Skills:

Candidate must demonstrate ten (10) years recent design experience,four (4) of which shall be in the following area of expertise: FireAlarm, Detection and Signaling Design

  • General knowledge ofelectrical/control systems, connection diagrams, layout plans,logic diagrams, panel layout details, P&ID’s, and batteryloading calculations Additional skills required:
  • Working knowledge of NFPA Codes and Standards, and NationalConsensus Codes and Standards such as
NFPA 13, NFPA 70, NFPA 72,NFPA 90A, NFPA

101, IBC, and various other ISA and IEEEstandards

  • Experience with 2D MicroStation Computer Aided Drafting andDesign (CADD)
  • Ability to operate Windows Microsoft Office Applications Page 3of 3 Candidate must be able to perform weekly field walk downs ofthe job site for the engineering work being performed.

These walk downs may involve construction sites with unevensurfaces and work in progress, walking for distances of over half amile, climbing of ladders to access remote areas, dressing out inprotective clothing and environments where a respirator isrequired.
