ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH AND SAFETY ENGINEER

Knoxville company is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineer to support their mission to provide a safe and healthy work environment and to maintain our responsibility to the environment and governmental regulations.

Pay:

$55,000-$65,000

Primary job responsibilities:
Manage and implement safety programs, regulatory compliance, and pertinent EHS initiatives.
Lead the investigation of incidents and ensure corrective and preventative actions are completed to minimize future exposures and proper records/documents are maintained.
Work with Human Resources and Management on the administration of workers compensation claims.
Compile and submit accident reports required by governmental and other regulatory agencies.
Maintain safety files and records, including but not limited to pertinent SOPs and SDSs (Safety Data Sheets). Work with all departments on design and use of equipment, emergency responsiveness, first aid, fire prevention and on all matters relating to EHS.
Conduct routine safety observations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and company EHS policies, procedures and practices
Design and deliver training sessions on key areas of production in relation to EHS and support the delivery of other training programs, including but not limited to new hire onboarding, forklift training, respirator fit testing and monthly safety meeting topics
Take responsibility for and oversee the operations of the in-house Safety Committee.
Maintain internal and regulatory reporting including data collection and reporting including but not limited to air, storm water, surface water discharge, Hazardous Waste management and DHS.
Ensure the company meets regulatory compliance obligations with federal and state

OSHA/EPA

Serve as contact for all regulatory agencies and maintain a proactive approach to reporting.
Keep abreast of any safety and environmental law or regulation changes that impact the organization
Perform additional responsibilities as required
Create and update company literature for EHS
Review safety procedures/precautions with all incoming visitors and provide applicable PPE. Background /

Experience:

2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with responsibility for Environmental, Health and Safety
Pre-employment drug screening and background check is required
Valid Driver’s License required
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 Per Year
