Environmental Health and Safety Engineer Job Summary:

Evaluate the organization’s facilities, equipment, and processes to minimize their impact on the environment. Conducts environmental tests, prepares reports and provides recommendations for corrective action to ensure the organization complies with environmental regulations. Investigate spills or other incidents, complete or verify incident reports; and work with other specialists and environmental agencies to identify causes of these incidents and prevent recurrence.

Compensation:

$79,000 – $110,000

Create and implement general health and safety policies and procedures and ensure training needs are met; all in accordance with OSHA guidelines and Magna specific standards. Assist in the investigation of all health and safety related incidents. Perform plantwide safety assessments and ensure CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) of findings. Compile and submit accident reports required by regulatory agencies. Oversee the administration of workers’ compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier to cut down on lost employee time and cut back on unjust claims. Devise, supervise, and coordinate health and safety training programs or media, which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness. Represent the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs. Complete Job Safety Analysis’ for all existing and new equipment. Education and/or

Experience:

8 Years relevant experience, or 3 years of experience with degree, or 2 years with Master’s degree

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

CSP and/or other applicable certifications

ISO45001 & 14001
