An individual in this Quality Engineerposition will support Performance Alloys and Compositesmanufacturing with a focus on Quality processes including customercomplaints, auditing, corrective action, continuous improvement,quality systems, process control and other activities as assigned.
This individual will manage various Quality System procedures,report key business metrics, collect and present appropriate data,independently manage projects, and work with cross-functionalteams. A critical responsibility is managing and facilitatingactivities for assigned business areas, as required with Customers,Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing. Theindividual is expected to work independently and to utilize teamswith minimal supervision required to achieve goals. An individualwith a background in metallurgy, engineering, chemistry, ormaterials science is preferred for this position.
You Will Have theOpportunity to:
Serve as the primary Quality leader for assignedarea(s). Develop and execute an annual Quality plan for eachassigned area including goals, training and internal audits. Serveas the subject matter expert about Quality issues for assignedareas.
Help manage and improve the
AS9100D / ISO9001
2015 qualitysystem. Maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of the
AS9100D /ISO 9001
2015 quality standard.
Manage customer complaints, materialreviews, and 8Ds in assigned areas.
Participate in or facilitatecorrective action teams to identify and implement improvements andpermanent corrective actions.
Prepare reports and presentations insupport of customer, manufacturing or vendor issues. Reports on thestatus of activities and key quality metrics. Participates in areameetings to review Quality metrics and activities.
REQUIREMENTS
BSengineering, chemistry, materials science, metallurgy, or othertechnical degree from an accredited college oruniversityDemonstrated Continuous Improvement skills resulting insignificant cost savings. Six Sigma or Lean Sigma GB/BBcertification desiredPrevious experience of 3 years’ or more inquality engineering, preferably in a metals manufacturingenvironmentWorking knowledge of
AS9100D / ISO 9001
2015 qualitysystems; experienced auditor a plusStrong problem-solving skillsand experience with customer complaints, corrective actions and8Ds.
Ability and willingness to travel to Materion facilities,customers, and vendors.
