Job Responsibilities:
The DCS Engineer in fiber manufacturing is responsible fordesigning, implementing, and maintaining control systems to ensureefficient and safe production. This role involves troubleshooting,optimizing system performance, and collaborating with productionteams to address technical issues. The engineer ensures smoothoperations, supports process upgrades, and improves automationsystems in the fiber manufacturing process.
Job Description:
Develop proficiency in several programming languages and controldevice networks for DCS systems, PLCs, or PCs. Provide application/control systems design and development forsystems of varying complexity Manage the implementation timeline for DCS upgrades acrossdifferent areas of the plant Ability to work with Production and Maintenance to develop HMIScreens Ensure KPIs are met and take corrective actions appropriately whendeviations from targets occur Interacting and supporting production by making informationavailable through plant systems Support strategic topics for the P&C group, such as alarmmanagement and documentation management (PLC drawings, tutorials,vendor database, etc.) Create detailed documentation, drawings, and user manuals forfrequently used services, and train key users. Oversee the installation of DCS projects at LFI, ensuring allaspects of the project scope are installed according to the projectcharter and LFI standards. Critical thinker and very detail-oriented, and capable of leadingservice teams during projects, upgrades or troubleshootingsituations. Capable of learning available analysis tools to solve complex DCSsystem problems
Job Requirements:
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or ComputerEngineering from an accredited college/university or equivalentexperience. 5 years of solid engineering experience in a high-volumemanufacturing environment, especially in controls engineering (unitprocess or integration), equipment engineering, and/orhardware/software automation engineering, demand-supply planning,and industrial engineering, preferably in the Fiber industry orwith PlantPAx Highly self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to workwell with people; have strong intercultural intuition and able todisagree and commit. Experience in Developing Engineering Scope from Concept toImplementation Confident in dealing with relevant standards and regulations Willingness to work beyond core business hours, if necessary, tominimize business interruption during planned or unplanned systemmodifications. Willingness to travel at least 10% of the time, in and outside ofthe USA for training Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to conduct formal meetings with customers and capable ofwriting, reviewing, and editing various types of reports.
