Full Job Description Overview:
Summary The Senior Packaging Specialist is responsible for organizing and managing automotive parts packaging for the Mobis Redistribution Center (RDC). The incumbent also coordinates with packaging suppliers to ensure competitive costing, on-time delivery, quality, and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.) Submit ideas for process improvement and cost reduction Assist in cross functional communication with all related teams (Mobis and external partners) Update and maintain the packaging specification database in AMOS Conduct compliance inspections to ensure packaging meets Mobis standards Identify and improve issues with current specifications to improve quality, efficiency, and cost Support data sharing among Mobis HQ and subsidiaries for the purpose of best practice execution Assist in evaluation of packaging contractors (on-time delivery, quality, accuracy) Prepare regular internal and external HQ reports as required Manage and mediate supplier and packager discrepancies, closing all within deadline Manage and report pricing for packaging of new parts Manage MIP Pallet racks in SAP, VAATZ, and One Mobis Provide updates on MIP Pallet racks Investment Close out MIP Pallets rack reporting with MHQ, SAP, General Purchasing, and Accounting Assist Accounts Payable for the packagers and all payment inquiries Review packagers’ lead times and make expedite request. Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field OR High School Diploma or equivalent plus at least 3 years of hands-on parts distribution or packaging experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills across several levels and functions Ability to assess issues and concerns and to provide logical win-win solutions Ability to establish clear expectations for vendors and to achieve timely project results Proficiency in
