SUMMARY:

The Production Engineer provides chemical engineeringexpertise to deliver optimum performance of process units in theareas of capacity, yields, energy, safety, and quality. Theposition works under the direction of the site or business ProcessEngineering Manager and works closely with professionals inTechnology, Project Engineering, and Manufacturing. ProductionEngineers are assigned to support specific production units.

Location of the position is dictated by the unit assignment.

Develop a collaborative working relationshipwith Site Leadership and the Manufacturing organization. UtilizeSix Sigma and Operational Excellence principles to drive process tobest demonstrated, Entitlement, performance in the areas ofcapacity, yields, energy, safety, and quality. Support testing andimplementing of new Technologies.

REPORTS TO

Manager of ProductionEngineering DUTIES:

Works closely with Mfg. Engineers, ControlEngineers, and Operations to optimize the economic performance ofthe assigned process unit(s) by improving yields or reducing energyand other usages. Works with Operations, Maintenance, andReliability professionals to improve the reliability of the processunit(s) and to maximize OEE. Actively supports the site & areasafety programs via participation (or leadership) in PHAs, LOPAs,MOC, incident investigations, resolution of action items, and otheractivities to ensure safe operation and regulatory compliance.

Serves as the unit production expert and provides technical counseland troubleshooting assistance to Mfg. Engineers and Operations asneeded to deliver planned performance. Works with the Mfg.

Engineers and Operations to maintain all process documentationup-to-date. Serves as Mfg. Representative on capital project teams.

Provides process design information for small capital and/orexpense projects. Generates innovative ideas for processimprovements and works with Technology, Process Engineering, andProject Engineering to screen such ideas.

TEAM & INTERACTIONS

Member of the Production Engineering organization working closelywith professionals in Process Technology, Project Engineering,Process Engineering, and Manufacturing organizations.
