Process Improvement Engineer 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars 1485 Redi Road, Cumming, GA 30040 Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Improvement Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering and a passion for optimizing manufacturing processes. This role will involve developing and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall product quality. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on individual with a proven track record of driving process improvements, cost reductions, and successful product launches. Responsibilities Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Collect and analyze data to identify trends, root causes, and potential solutions. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employee involvement and problem-solving. Analyze production capacity to identify constraints, optimize resource allocation, and ensure timely delivery of products. Train operators to implement designed improvements. Develop and maintain clear and concise work instructions to ensure consistent process execution. Conduct time studies to accurately measure cycle times and identify opportunities for improvement. Maintain and update Bill of Materials (BOM) routing and costing information in SAP to ensure accurate cost calculations and production planning. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Skilled in the use of Design of Experiments (DOE) to solve manufacturing problems. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab, JMP, SQL, Power BI). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including sheet metal fabrication, welding and assembly. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles. Strong project management and organizational abilities. Experience working with APQP projects. Knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, PPAP, SPC, etc.). Ability to efficiently communicate with persons on the shop floor to engineering management. Preferred Qualifications Six green or black belt certification. Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive/aerospace manufacturing. Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC). Knowledgeable in the use of A3 Reporting. Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is preferred. Proficiency in SolidWorks or other solid modeling CAD software for fixture and gauge design. Experience in welding processes and procedures. A positive track record of implementing a continuous improvement program, not just working within it.
