Production Engineering Assistant Manager, Paint (West Point, GA)Responsible for the Paint Department (including Assembly repair area and Waste Water Treatment) functions and goals and ensuring those policies are followed. Manage the activities and performance of Paint Production Engineers including implementation of design changes, quality and corrosion protection activities, production and material trials, problem solving activities, various cross functional or task force teams, etc. Manage the active participation of Paint Production Engineering in the identification and resolution of quality and production issues as well as monitor capacity data, MPS, simulations, etc. Plan and manage short/mid/long term goals and budgets; actively pursue production cost savings ideas and evaluation of alternate solutions. Develop personnel development and training plans for Paint Production Engineers in keeping with continuous improvement. Manage effective communication between the Paint Department, suppliers and contractors.

As necessary, International travel may be required.

• Job Requirements
• : Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or related Engineering field.

Foreign equivalents accepted.3 years experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.

Position requires skills with the following which may be gained through experience or education in degree granting programs (including projects, papers, internships, practical training experiences or similar)

• Paint process robotic automation, installation, operation, troubleshooting and path adjustments
• Paint system applications of sealer, deadener, primers, top coats, pretreatment and electrodeposition
• New model management for ICE vehicles and EV
• Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers Management
• Conveyor Systems operation
• Process Engineering and data analysis to identify root cause processing issues and develop long-term countermeasures
• Project Management from concept to implementation
• Paint Process wastewater treatment operations
• Robots software/programming Yaskawa, Durr, Universal Robots OR Kuka robot automation technology

• Programming/Software:

  Matlab, Allen Bradley, Factory Talk, SCADA, Ifix, CATIA, SolidWorks

• VMT, ISRA, Keyence, Favis vision systems
