Quality Engineer II

    Your responsibilities
    The OEM Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing and improving the quality of our OEM products throughout their lifecycle in the North American market.

He/ She will be responsible for compiling and analyzing all relevant quality data from various sources (field service, marketing, warranty claims, etc.), as well as evaluating parts returned from the field for quality failures. He/ She will drive the continuous improvement of product quality across all OEM product categories, working closely with OEM suppliers and BSH quality functions to implement sustainable improvements and monitor ongoing results.

  • Compile all relevant quality data from various sources (field quality, customer service, end consumers, audit feedback), and provide thorough analysis to clearly identify key quality issues and target improvement areas to local teams and OEM manufacturers. (35%)
  • Coordinate the return of failed components and appliances from the field, drive root cause analysis, and drive improvements with the suppliers (including shipping failed parts back to manufacturers, driving 8D analysis, and coordinating BPCR (branded change requests) as needed). (25%)
  • Work together with customer service to make sure all product changes are accurately recorded and properly reflected in BSH systems (including repair procedures, spare part documents, CS bills of material, FAQ).(10%)
  • Work with the product owners to analyze perceived quality and end customer satisfaction through various tools (social media, VICO, NPS, etc.) and drive corresponding improvement projects. (10%)
  • Continuously track changes and identify trends corresponding to the changes in TCR (technical call rate), CR (call rate), and EDC (external defect costs) and present these to the global quality teams. (5%)

    • Support preparation of EQS (Execution Center Quality Session) and RQS (Regional Quality Session) meetings and communication.
  • Act as a key contact partner for all areas of the BSH organization relating to OEM quality topics (including operations, development, purchasing, service, product management, etc.).
  • Support incoming product audits as needed and drive corrective actions where necessary.

    Your profile
  • Bachelor’s degree (Quality Engineering / Data Analytics)

  • 3-5 Years of Experience (Consumer Products Quality/Development)

  • Strong data analytics capabilities (ability to collect and analyze large quantities of data from various sources, understand the findings, and present these clearly internally and externally).
  • Working knowledge of state-of the art quality management methods (including ISO, FMEA, 8D, etc.)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, multi-task, and drive deadlines for quality improvements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint). Knowledge of other systems (SAP, ETQ, PowerBI) beneficial.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate with a wide spectrum of people from auditors to upper management.
  • Excellent problem solving capabilities using tools like Six Sigma, Shainin Red X, etc.
  • Must be able to work well with people in other departments under difficult and sometimes stressful circumstances.

    Your Pay & Benefits
    The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
    Benefits offered include the following:
