Supplier Quality Engineer Position Available In Guilford, North Carolina

Job Description As the Crisis Leader, you will be part of the group. You will manage supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, cost, feature transformation, sustainability, and risk. Your role involves collaborating with supplier development engineers, buyers, and other functions to address low-performing suppliers and provide technical assistance to resolve issues related to production systems and resource shortages. Your primary mission is to restore supplier health and enforce a zero-tolerance policy for impacts on operations or customer satisfaction while also supporting resourcing away from troubled suppliers when necessary. Responsibilities + Engage actively with suppliers and supply chains to ensure operational excellence. + Analyze supplier capacity and investment requests to assess and address weaknesses. + Monitor high-risk supplier development issues to prevent crises. + Develop and drive supplier problem-solving techniques for identified faults. + Enhance supplier production systems and processes to prevent operational impacts. + Set focused priorities and work towards objectives. Essential Skills + Proven problem-solving abilities. + Experience in lean manufacturing. + Ability to handle uncertainty and unfamiliar tasks using previous experiences. + Multitasking and efficient workload management. + Ability to drive a sense of urgency with suppliers, focusing on information communication and results. + Customer-focused mindset and ability to provide timely information for accurate decisions. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in engineering, business management, or supply chain management. + Experience in supply chain quality and development, production, or crisis management. + Preferably experience in the automotive or heavy commercial truck industry. + Strong communication and teamwork skills. + Accountability and project management for tasks without close supervision. + Collaborative mindset aFnd desire to work towards a common purpose. + Integrity and creativity. + Flexibility and preparedness to travel with short notice. Work Environment The role is based in an open desk environment, equipped with lockers for personal storage. The cafeteria offers breakfast and lunch options. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 – $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
