Projects currently being worked are:
updating cabling, cabinet consolidation, and documentation. This is in addition to our daily tasks of hardware installs, break fix, and decommissions.

Getzville, New York job type: Contract salary: $29 – 39 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Typical Day in the Role Oversees the daily operations of the organization’s data center, maintains and updates data storage systems, manages hardware and software, implements data protection and recovery plans, performs installations and repairs, and provides technical support to staff as needed.
Supports all data center hardware and equipment, including servers, storage, converged infrastructure, and appliances from a variety of manufacturersMonitors environment for alarms (including capacity) and takes appropriate actions in remediating issuesPlans and executes data center infrastructure upgrades, including servers, storage, and appliancesAides in capacity planning across server and storage infrastructure and assists data center technicians with issue resolutionEnsures effectiveness of security solutions, including firmware upgrades, anti-virus solutions, and software patchesEstablishes and maintains regular written and in-person communications with internal and external stakeholdersSchedules maintenance windows for data center deployments, following all change management processesCreates and updates training and knowledge articles for data center technologiesCreates reports and presents results to internal stakeholdersImplements data protection plans as well as backup/ recovery service changes such as scheduling, server groupings, etc.
