Facilities Management Watch Engineers Columbia University is seeking Watch Engineers for our Facilities and Operations team. Come join NYC’s only Ivy League school as we launch our new campus and reimagine what a 21st-century urban university can be! This trade is primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of the District Energy System, which includes a 6,000-ton refrigeration plant “electric and steam turbine-driven compressors” as well as a dual-fuel-fired water tube boiler plant at 150 psi operating pressure. (The normal electric power service is supplied from Con Edison.) Responsibilities:
Maintain, repair, and operate system equipment and auxiliary system; utilize computer-monitoring systems while working independently or under limited supervision and direction in accordance with sound engineering practices Work in collaboration with all plant-related trades and management Observe electrical switchboard and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and/or BMS system to inform decisions on system operations
Requirements:
