The ideal candidate will be responsible for improving manufacturing processes, enhancing equipment efficiency, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role is critical in driving operational excellence and maintaining high standards of product quality, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality. Design, install, and maintain mechanical systems, production equipment, and automation solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, quality, and safety to resolve process issues. Lead root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions. Conduct time and motion studies to improve labor and equipment utilization. Support new product introductions and process modifications. Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and food safety regulations (e.g., SQF, HACCP, GMP). Assist in capital projects including cost analysis, equipment selection, and contractor coordination. Monitor labor efficiency and effectiveness, adjusting schedules as necessary to achieve maximum productivity while reducing overtime. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and safety. Drive process improvements and optimization initiatives to increase operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall plant performance. Implement cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements to maximize profitability. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management, providing regular updates on plant performance, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (8+ years) in food operations management, preferably within the baking industry.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality management systems, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and performance metrics.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management a plus.

Pay :

The pay range for this position is $100,000-$150,000 plus discretionary bonus based on performance. Abe’s Vegan Muffins takes into consideration a wide range of factors in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
