Job Title:

Engineering Technician – Forming (Overtime Eligible)

Location:
New Brighton PA New Product Introduction Facility Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Engineering Technician – Forming Department to join our manufacturing team. This role is critical in the development, optimization, and documentation of thermoforming setups for new products. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to translate process knowledge into standardized protocols that support scalable and repeatable production outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Optimize Thermoforming Setups:

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to establish robust thermoforming processes for new products, ensuring quality and efficiency from initial development through to production readiness.

Standardize Process Protocols:

Create comprehensive protocols to ensure the reproducibility of forming results at the main production facility, including setup procedures and key operating parameters.

Document Critical Instructions:

Produce detailed setup documentation, including: Tooling requirements and specifications Part inspection protocols Image capture and annotation of critical setup features Key process parameters and troubleshooting guidelines

Inspection Planning:

Develop and implement product-specific inspection plans to ensure quality control at all stages of the forming process.

Production Signoff and Gatekeeping:

Conduct signoff inspections to verify process readiness before releasing jobs to the main production floor. Identify and prevent the progression of jobs operating below standard performance thresholds.

Machine Maintenance:

Perform routine and preventative maintenance on thermoforming equipment to ensure optimal machine performance and minimize downtime.

Qualifications:

Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment, preferably with exposure to thermoforming or similar forming processes. Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with forming equipment and tooling. Experience developing work instructions, inspection protocols, and process documentation. Ability to read technical drawings and interpret dimensional inspection criteria. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and image capture tools. Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Working Conditions:

Hands-on work in a production or pilot line environment Occasional lifting of parts or equipment (up to 50 lbs) Overtime and off-shift hours may be required based on project needs
