While reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for conducting packaging tests and evaluations per industry and customer standards.
What you’ll be doing:
Provide quotes to customers
Coordinate and schedule testing activities
Conduct tests per test protocols provided
Inspect products after tests, record test results, and maintain detailed documentation of findings.
Invoice customer for services provided
Coordinate the return/disposition of tested products
Support Engineering and Quality initiatives by performing material tests as requested
Maintain lab/facility equipment in working order
Coordinate annual calibration of test equipment
Coordinate lab services with respective vendors (waste disposal, cleaning, maintenance)
Comply with all lab andpany safety protocols
Operation of standard material handing equipment (forklift, pallet jack and dolly)
This position is located in Nashville, TN and will be relocated to Hartsville, SC in June of 2025. We’d love to hear from you if:
Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field(or equivalent experience
General knowledge of the functionality, and performance characteristics of a variety of protective packaging materials. These materials include, but are not limited to, corrugated fiberboard, shape molded foam, paper honeb, molded and extruded plastics, and a variety of tapes, adhesives, and fasteners.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using laboratory and material handling equipment
Attention to detail, organized and have the ability to maintain detailed records
Understand relevant packaging industry standards and practices

Compensation:

Engineer I:

The annual base salary range for this role is from $67,040 to $75,420
