About the job SUMMARY The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality of materials, components, and services sourced from external suppliers. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining supplier quality programs to minimize risk, improve supplier performance, and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The Supplier Quality Manager will collaborate closely with sourcing, engineering, and manufacturing teams to proactively address quality issues and drive continuous improvement throughout the supply chain. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Supplier Qualification and Selection:
Develop and implement supplier qualification processes, including audits, assessments, and questionnaires. Evaluate potential suppliers based on quality history, capabilities, and risk assessment. Maintain an approved supplier list and track supplier performance.
Supplier Quality Management System Development and Implementation:
Establish and maintain a comprehensive supplier quality management system aligned with company quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, GMP). Develop and implement supplier quality manuals, procedures, and work instructions. Ensure effective communication of quality requirements to suppliers.
Supplier Performance Monitoring and Improvement:
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor supplier quality performance (e.g., defect rates, on-time delivery, corrective action effectiveness). Analyze supplier performance data, identify trends, and implement proactive measures to prevent quality issues. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and provide feedback. Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers through collaborative problem-solving and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Supplier Audits and Assessments:
Plan, conduct, and follow-up on supplier audits to assess compliance with quality system requirements and identify areas for improvement. Manage the audit schedule and ensure timely completion of audits and corrective actions. Track and verify the effectiveness of supplier corrective actions.
Incoming Inspection and Material Review:
Define and implement incoming inspection plans and procedures. Manage the process for handling non-conforming materials from suppliers, including root cause analysis, disposition, and supplier chargebacks. Work with suppliers to implement robust containment and corrective actions for rejected materials.
Collaboration and Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier quality-related issues. Collaborate closely with sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, and other relevant departments to ensure alignment on quality expectations and resolve quality issues. Communicate effectively with suppliers on quality performance, expectations, and improvement initiatives. Participate in cross-functional teams for new product introductions and supplier changes.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier quality records, including audit reports, performance data, and corrective action plans. Prepare regular reports on supplier quality performance for management review.
Training and Development:
Provide training and support to internal teams on supplier quality processes and requirements. Stay abreast of industry best practices and regulatory changes related to supplier quality management. Regular & reliable attendance Other duties as assigned Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial), Quality Management, or a related field. 10-15 years of experience in supplier quality management, quality assurance, or a related field within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, GMP). Experience in conducting supplier audits and implementing corrective and preventive actions. Proficiency in data analysis and statistical process control (SPC) techniques. Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills (e.g., 8D, 5 Why). Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient in Microsoft Office1 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Preferred Qualifications Professional certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP).
