Job Description

As a Material and Process/Composites Engineer you will be responsible for:

Coordinating manufacturing workload to optimize output relative to assigned prioritiesWorking on the development of composite laminate systems in support of the design of the SLS spacecraftAssisting in developing design properties and establishing processing parameters for a wide variety of components-coordinating movement of materials and components from through development and testing process.

Working with a team of engineers and technicians to establish manufacturing techniques.

Job Requirements:

A degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university is preferred. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a PhD with a minimum of 8 years of experience, master’s with at least 10 years of experience, or BS with at least 12 years of experience.

Composite fiber placement experience is preferred but not required.

Experience with developing and executing detailed work/test instructions and be able to facilitate equipment trouble shooting both developing procedures and documenting findings.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively interface with customers, technicians and management.

The ability to develop technical papers/presentations and deliver to potential lab customers and at conferences.

Additional qualities:

Experience working with carbon fiber laminates.

Aerospace/NASA experience.

Laser tracker experience.3D CAD modeling.

Familiar with Pro-E/CREO design/modeling software.
