Do:
Gather manufacturing data for the Cold Start Initiative (CSI) team regarding out of production spare parts or components that have a request for quotation (RFQ) from a customer.
Implement basic manufacturing processes, methods, and techniques. Particularly in aluminum and steel brazing, welding, including machining processes to produce aerospace Heat Exchangers.
Utilize knowledge of GD&T with the ability to integrate within a production process. Keen understanding of B/P interpretation as it relates to specification requirements.
Support the restart of legacy heat exchanger products.
Work alongside the manufacturing engineering team/shop floor by creating and modifying work instructions for operation/assembly sheets. (Solumina knowledge preferred) Manage various projects and process tasks while following approval process for authoring operation sheets.
Identify areas for improved product manufacturability, reduced product cost, or improved product reliability. Utilize working knowledge of 3D modeling. (NX preferred)
Mark-up requirements for tools/fixtures/gages.
Support supplier questions about fixtures and part requirements. Support meetings with production managers to assess existing processes.
Draft process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates.
Design and test process upgrades, including new process systems.
Develop routines and best practices to ensure product quality.
Develop standardized operating instructions for the process upgrades then monitoring these upgrades.
Provide the Product Manager with process documents and standard operating procedures. Responds effectively in high-paced environment.
Production troubleshooting, (cause & effect) must be a strength.
Create presentations based on process data and results to show opportunities for productivity improvements and cost savings.
Manage various project and process tasks related to product quality.
Work Experience How You Will Get Here:
Understanding of manufacturing processes, including Sheet Metal.
Knowledge of high-level manufacturing processes
Knowledge of various tools, gages, and fixtures
Proficient in blueprint reading
Proficient in GD&T as well as a firm background in generating operation sheets
Experienced in AS9100 and basic manufacturing processes, methods, and techniques. Particularly in aluminum and steel brazing, welding, and machining. Competency with machines and tools required to fabricate and manufacture Sheet Metal
Knowledge of processes for cutting, bending, attaching, and welding sheet metal parts, tools, or components
Ensuring processes comply with safety and quality standards. Performing process simulations and troubleshooting issues
Desired Skills:
Minimum of 3 – 6 years’ experience
Familiarity with Teamcenter and NX preferred
Familiarity with SAP preferred.
Solumina knowledge and experience preferred.
Understanding of Heat Exchanger manufacturing processes preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Self-motivated to ensure accountability, disciplined to improve processes, passionate about engineering, and organized to track many work streams.
Excellent verbal and written communication
Organized with the ability to multi-task while driving actions to completion
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office with emphasis on
Excel Work Requirements:
This role is considered Onsite in Windsor Locks, CT
You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours. Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Pay:
$85,000 – $90,000 per annum plus benefits
