SUMMARY OF ROLE

This is a developmental role intended to support engineering functions while training toward becoming a qualified Manufacturing Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineering Assistant will work with cross-functional teams to execute engineering activities, evaluate project needs, and resolve issues for both internal and external customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide engineering support to the site on various projects to satisfy both internal and external customer needs Assist in the development, documentation, and training of standardized manufacturing procedures Collaborate with customers, project managers, and quality teams to meet project expectations Support or lead operator training and development activities as required for project needs Meet assigned project deadlines; success will be measured by achieving project objectives within scheduled timelines Maximize efficiency by multitasking multiple project activities ensuring timely execution and avoiding delays Maintain effective communication to all internal and external stake holders Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment

Specific Responsibilities:

Coordinate with respective department managers, engineers, and support staff as needed to facilitate project success Learn and adhere to site Quality Management System (QMS) and

ISO 13485

requirements Adhere to customer and internal engineering guidelines for all project phases Review and analyze information supplied by Program Managers and provide immediate feedback on anything that does not fit scope or project criteria at any stage of the engineering process Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget of allotted engineer hours Utilize software, libraries & existing designs to reduce lead times for projects Ensure work meets both internal and external quality expectations and adheres to Westfall Engineering Guidelines Delegate work as necessary to maximize output and reduce lead time Serve as a point of contact for engineering-related project inquiries Make suggestions for equipment, software, training, and resources that would make the department more efficient

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Technical degree preferred Strong mechanical aptitude required Excellent organizational and time management skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment 3D Solid Modeling experience a plus SolidWorks experience a plus Proficiency in the ability to use Excel, Word, Power Point or the ability to learn

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer with multiple screens Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs
