Description:
A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced and driven Manufacturing Supervisor to lead operations within the milling and plug facility . This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing production schedules, managing daily manufacturing activities, and ensuring safety and quality standards are consistently met. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement within a highly technical and precision-focused production setting. The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing, preferably in boat building or a similar industry and a strong ability to lead teams while maintaining high levels of efficiency and employee engagement. Experience with CAD software such as Rhino, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, and 3D scanning technologies is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Coordination o Develop and manage production schedules, allocate resources, and ensure timely execution of manufacturing tasks. o Monitor workflow and adjust plans as needed to meet production goals. Quality Control o Oversee quality assurance procedures to ensure compliance with internal and industry standards. o Investigate and address quality issues; implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Performance Management o Track productivity and operational metrics; identify areas for improvement and set performance targets. o Promote a data-driven culture that values accountability and excellence. Personnel Management o Supervise and mentor team members; lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations. o Address employee relations issues in a timely and constructive manner. Safety & Compliance o Enforce safety regulations and best practices across the production floor. o Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with OSHA and company-specific policies. Continuous Improvement o Evaluate current processes and lead initiatives to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance workflow. o Stay informed on industry trends and innovations in manufacturing technology. Collaboration & Communication o Act as a liaison between the manufacturing floor and other departments including Engineering, Quality Control, and Sales. o Facilitate clear communication of expectations, changes, and project updates.
Requirements:
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the marine or composites industry. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and engage employees. Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment. Experience in production planning, scheduling, and resource management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP systems. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Background in boat building, marine manufacturing, or composite fabrication. Proficiency with CAD software such as Rhino, SolidWorks, or Siemens NX. Experience with 3D scanning technologies for part validation, reverse engineering, or quality inspection. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
