https://www.lsijax.com/careers/ General Summary The Project Engineer is responsible for all technical aspects on aproject, including technical leadership, solution development, andadvanced design and implementation of real-time software andhardware systems for training devices. Essential Job Functions Generates technical solutions that satisfy system requirements. Communicates with, and ensures good communication betweenengineering disciplines, program management, and otherdepartments. Reviews requirements and generates architectural solutions based onwide knowledge of hardware and software. Analyzes, designs, and implements real-time software and hardwaresystems for aviation aircrew and maintenance training devices. Schedules daily workload for engineering team and supervisesengineers assigned to their project. Conducts regular statusmeetings with engineering and production team members. Identifies schedule issues regarding schedule conflicts and provideinputs to the Program Manager. Makes recommendations to improveschedule and manpower. Develops a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) when required toestablish a project development structure. Attends and briefs project status and engineering issues at SystemsEngineering Technical Review (SETR) events and In-Progress Reviews(IPR) ensuring discrepancies noted by the reviewing authority arerecorded as appropriate Action Items. Constructively and harmoniously works with the engineering team,management, and customers to assure budget, timeline, and scoperequirements are met. Performs testing at customer sites as well as early testing onpre-release products. Develops technical proposals and responds to Sources Sought, RFP’s,and RFl’s in conjunction with the marketing team, assuring they aretechnically accurate and professionally presented. Develops training level of effort estimates for customers. Must be capable of safely handling government-furnished equipmentand materials. Must be available to work a standard weekly schedule with overtimeas required. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must have a wide range of simulation knowledge in hardware andsoftware in order to recommend solutions to best fit customerrequirements. Candidate must be self-motivated. Excellent writing and presentation skills. Ability to establish priorities to ensure tasks are accomplished onschedule. Respond to tasks and mentorship from the Engineering Manager. Must be able to obtain a security clearance when required by thecontract. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in an engineering major and five (5) years ofexperience in engineering discipline; or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and seven (7) years ofexperience in an engineering discipline; or HS diploma or equivalent and nine (9) years of experience inengineering. Advanced degree in engineering preferred.
