Job Description:

Adjunct (part-time) instructors are hired on an as-needed, term-by-term (or per course) basis. By ing for this position, you will be joining the part-time instructional pool for consideration as a prospective adjunct instructor. The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive leadership role in helping the College effectively manage change. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide excellence in instruction in the CNC and engineering technology certificate programs and other related courses for undergraduate and apprenticeship students, including online.
Provide operation oversight of the CNC lab and CNC machines.
Assist in development and evaluation of curriculum as appropriate.
Utilize approved textbook(s) and/or other instructional materials as approved.
Advise students, participating in institutional service and professional development activities, and engaging with the community and industry.
Collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff to ensure student success.
Create and integrate simulated manufacturing environments that will enable students to develop and enhance the skills and knowledge leading to employment.
Provide student guidance and support.
Engage in institutional service, professional development, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Advanced Technology & Applied Science, the Dean Career Education, and/or the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Complete annual mandatory compliance training.
Conduct each class according to the approved syllabus.
Utilize the approved textbook and/or other instructional materials as approved.
Be fully prepared and on time.
Submit grades at the applicable times.
Provide students with guidance on coursework.
Be familiar with and abide by college policies.
Treat students and colleagues with respect and understanding of differences.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, engineering technology, engineering administration, industrial engineering, or closely related field.
OR Bachelor’s in closely related field AND minimum one (1) year in-field experience
OR Associate’s in manufacturing, engineering, engineering technology, engineering administration, industrial engineering, machining, AND minimum of two (2) years in-field experience.
OR Associate’s AND current in-field professional certification AND five (5) years’ in-field experience.
OR Bachelor’s AND current in-field professional certification.
OR Bachelor’s AND at least three (3) years’ in-field experience.
Experience with Haas machines is preferred.
Strong knowledge of the following subject areas: CNC Operations and Programming, Blueprint Reading, GD&T, Quality Control, and Machine Code.
Experience in the manufacturing industry is required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
Industry recognized certifications MSSC, CPT, Solidworks/CAD, OSHA 10 preferred. •All degrees must be from a regionally accredited postsecondary institution.
